As of today, 15th Jan 2026, the government has announced the granny flat building consent exemption becomes law! 

What does this mean? 

In certain zones you can build up to a 70sqm second dwelling on your property with NO building consent. Other conditions do apply so please read through the link below or contact us to check if your property and plans meet requirements.
